Everton fan here, I don't understand why Southampton fans are surprised why Koeman wants to take on the Everton job, yes it's a big job and the club needs a massive overhaul, Everton FC have been underachieving over the last couple of years but with a few new faces and serious investment the club can move forward quickly, Everton will be in a new 55/ 60,000 seater stadium within 3 years with further investment forthcoming, EFC are the fourth most successful club in England and after years in the doldrums the club are moving forward, this club has the potential to be back among the giants of English football where it once was, huge fan base big history I'm sorry but we aren't like Southampton West Ham or Spurs this club is much bigger.

"With a new few faces and serious investment" any club can move forward.
Not denying that everton are a big club but in football there are only two ways a big club can go: sustaining achievements or end up like leeds/ nottingham. Finishing in the top 4 just once in, what, 11 years? isn't a sign of retaining the dominance everton once had in the 70s and 80s. You sound like the leeds fans back in 05 until they realize its going to take time for their clubs to ever reach the heights they once were in. I'm speaking here as a big admirer of both leeds and everton (cahill, kewell, viduka, see the connection? ) And until your club can achieve back its glory days its best to tone down a bit. The weirder fact is that you are baffled us saints fans being bemused if koeman goes to everton. Now how are we as fans supposed to react when your manager who guided the team to europa move to a team who finished below them for 2 seasons running? "Oh its everton, no wonder he's leaving. That's normal. They were powerhouses back in the 70s, I could totally understand that. Being presently in europe counts for jack compared to winning trophies 20 years ago. "
Either way if roko does move to you it seems to be more about the dosh than club stature. If it wasn't then you guys wouldn't have to pay him extraordinary wages to lure him in.

Bigger maybe, better no not a chance. You're an Aston Villa waiting to happen. If RoKo does join u clowns then he is there for the money only. Also he never stays anywhere that long so will remain at u for 2 years max.

Well as I stated a couple of weeks ago koeman wasn't my first choice and would prefer emery but do see him as a solid appointment for us. No point going back over if it is a step down/up etc, do generally feel for you as a club but your chairman/director needs to be stronger when other teams come in for your best players or your always going to have problems in keeping your manager happy. Don't gloat if he does come to us but would like the fan that was so sure he wouldn't that he said he would get a Pompey tattoo if he did to honour his word :-)

Since when have Everton been a big club. Size of ground means nothing, big club come because of what they have achieved. Can you really remember when they won anything? Still it must be great living in Liverpools shadow. Remember Liverhampton took what they thought was our big players and ended up with egg on there faces.

Poor saints having a go at everton calling us clowns. 9 league titles 5 fa cups a european cup is enough to know everton are miles ahead of southampton when it comes to who is the bigger club! As for now yeh u have finished above everton for the last 2 years but that is because of Bad Management! I think even you saints know deep inside that the everton squad is better than the saints squad.

If only take Lukaku and Coleman to get into our starting line up and one of them is off. Better team my arse.
